2018 Ford Expedition vs. GMC Yukon

Thank you for choosing Sheridan Ford! We are here to provide you with all your Ford needs, whether servicing the one you have or helping you find a new one!

As you look for a full-sized SUV, consider the 2018 Ford Expedition. With seating for up to 8 passengers, its spacious and the perfect car for family road trips. Compared to the 2018 GMC Yukon, the Expedition has much more to offer. Take a test drive at Sheridan Ford to make your decision.

Power

Despite its size and weight, the Expedition still proves itself to be quite powerful with no lag in acceleration. The 3.5L EcoBoost® engine optimizes power, putting out 375 hp1 at 5,000 rpm, slightly more powerful than the Yukon’s 355 hp at 5,600 rpm. A 10-speed automatic transmission comes standard across the three Expedition models: XLT, Limited and Platinum. A 10-speed automatic transmission comes standard on the Yukon Denali, while the other two models, SLE and SLT come standard with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Space

The Expedition is much more spacious than the Yukon. Behind each row, there is ample room to stretch out, and store what you need.

Behind Expedition Yukon
Front Row 104.6 cu.ft. 94.7 cu.ft.
Second Row 57.5 cu.ft. 51.7 cu.ft.
Third Row 19.3 cu.ft. 15.3 cu.ft.

The need for cargo space is often an important factor in contemplating an SUV of this size. It caters to a larger family and more space makes for a more comfortable drive.

Capability

Tow up to 9,300 lbs. with the 2018 Expedition. The Yukon can only tow a max of 8,500 lbs. Using the Pro Trailer Backup Assist™2,3, confidently guide your trailer on your trips. Using your side-view mirrors and the rear-view camera, simply turn the dial in the cabin to keep the trailer on the right track.

Each expedition is equipped with drive-assist features3 that help you drive better:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • BLIS (Blind Spot Information System)
  • Pre-Collision Assist
  • Lane-Keeping System

Technology

SYNC® 32,4 Technology lets control calls, music and more while you drive using voice-activated technology. Continue to use your favorite apps, like Spotify or Pandora to create the perfect soundtrack for your drive.

Let the FordPass™ Smartphone Application5 act as your personal assistant. Get help from our expert Ford guides, compare fuel prices and locate and reserve parking. Go a step further and link your app with SYNC Connect5 to check your fuel levels and remotely lock, unlock, start and stop your Expedition in the palm of your hand.
