In 1936, The Nemours Foundation was formed per a request in the will of Alfred I. duPont. A few years later, in 1940, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children opened its doors. Alfred I. duPont’s dedication to easing human suffering continues to guide the hospital today.
At present, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children’s campus features a long list of comforting amenities to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for every patient and their family. These include the following and many more:

Due to a few different factors, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is unable to receive support from Children's Miracle Network. Therefore, the hospital relies primarily on donations and fundraising events, such as the annual Help Our Kids Radiothon.
Since 2011, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children has held this engaging event hosted by Forever Media, Inc. This year, it will take place entirely online and over the radio. Those interested in participating can tune in to the event on both October 7th and 8th. Patients, families, and clinicians will share testimonies and inspiring stories about their experiences at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children.
