Additionally, the 2019 Ford Explorer also features an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor, which allows you to see how long your engine oil will last until it’s time to get it changed.
Performance and Capability
The 2019 Ford Explorer has three engine options, two of which are Ford’s EcoBoost® engines: a 3.5-L Ti-VCT V6 engine, a 2.3-L EcoBoost® engine and a 3.5-L EcoBoost® engine. The 2019 Ford Explorer is available in either Front-Wheel Drive capability or 4-Wheel Drive Capability. It also features Intelligent 4-Wheel Drive with a Terrain Management System that includes settings for Normal, Mud/Rut, Sand and Snow/Gravel/Grass.
The 2019 Ford Explorer also has two available tow packages: Class II Trailer Tow Package and Class III Trailer Tow Package. Class II requires 4WD and the 2.3-L EcoBoost® and has a maximum towing capacity of 3,000 lbs. Class III requires 4WD and the 3.5-L EcoBoost® and has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.
Additionally, the Explorer’s fuel tank holds up 18.6 gallons, giving you longer range between trips to the gas station.

When your hands are full, the 2019 Explorer’s Foot-Activated Liftgate comes in handy. By placing your foot beneath the bottom of the car, the rear liftgate opens so you can easily place all your groceries, shopping bags, cargo or anything else that you need to put down in the rear of the car.
The 2019 Explorer features an exterior key pad that allows you to enter the Ford SUV without your key fob. For instance, if you lock your keys in the Explorer, you won’t have to worry about how you will retrieve them when you can easily use the exterior keypad.
