2019 Ford Ranger Preview

Be on the lookout for the return of the Ford Ranger. This midsize Ford truck is making its triumphant return to the United States in 2019, the last model year in the US market being 2011. You can expect this Ford truck to perform efficiently as you’ve grown to expect from Ford trucks and all Ford models.

The 2019 Ford Ranger is not on lots yet, but production has started on this truck! You can even build, price and preorder online or here at Sheridan Ford. Read on to learn about some features in the return of this classic Ford truck.

It features a 2.3-L EcoBoost® engine (similar to that of the Ford Explorer) that will deliver 270 HP and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. It will also be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Tow up to a best in class* 7,500 lbs. and anticipate that it can handle a payload of up to 1,860 lbs.

The 2019 Ford Ranger is built Ford tough, so you can play hard. It was built to take on any terrain with both the available Fx4 Off Road Package and the available Terrain Management System. The Fx4 Off Road Package includes bash and skid plates to protect the under carriage of the Ranger, tires suited for all types of terrain, the ability to monitor the pitch and roll, as well as the steering angle of the truck’s front wheels. The Terrain Management System allows you to switch from one mode to another in the blink of an eye. Choose from four settings—grass/gravel/snow, mud, sand and normal— to easily under any road conditions. The electronic locking rear differential can also be used at low speeds on surfaces with low traction to further provide optimal performance.

Additionally, the available Trail Control™ serves as an “off road cruise control”. Turning on this setting will keep your truck at a constant speed of 20 mph.

You can also drive with more confidence knowing you’ll have back up with the following drive assist technologies:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Keeping System
  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®)
  • Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection

FordPass Connect will allow you to create an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, with the ability to connect up to 10 devices and 50 feet around the Ford Ranger.

Three models will be available: XL, XLT and Lariat.
