2021 Ford EcoSport Review
The 2021 Ford EcoSport is a well-equipped subcompact SUV that boasts a strong engine, a comfortable ride quality, and a spacious interior with tons of technology and convenience features.
Drivers in New Castle, Newark, and Wilmington can learn all about the new EcoSport with this 2021 Ford EcoSport review from Sheridan Ford.
EcoSport Engine and Performance
The EcoSport comes with a 123-horsepower turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine standard, which mates to a slick-shifting six-speed automatic transmission. If you want more power, you can upgrade to an available 166-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with rapid acceleration. When properly equipped, the EcoSport can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
Regardless of the engine you choose, the EcoSport is highly maneuverable and easy to drive around busy city streets or in crowded parking lots. Passengers will enjoy the comfortable ride since the EcoSport doesn’t get hung up on potholes or broken pavement. Front-wheel drive is standard for both engines, but all-wheel drive is available with the four-cylinder engine for better traction in inclement weather.
The EcoSport has seating for up to five people in two rows of supportive, well-bolstered seats. Adult passengers have plenty of headroom and legroom to stretch out and relax on long trips, and the padded seats offer long-distance comfort. Several upgrades are available for the EcoSport interior, including push-button start, remote keyless entry, a moonroof, ambient lighting, and automatic climate control.
Boasting one of the largest cargo holds in its class, the EcoSport offers 20.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat, which expands to 50 cubic feet with the seats folded flat. To enjoy more convenient loading and unloading, the EcoSport has a cargo door that opens to the side.
EcoSport Safety and Technology
The EcoSport includes MyKey as a standard safety feature, which allows you to set speed and audio volume limits for young and inexperienced drivers. Several safety features are optional, including fog lights and rain-sensing windshield wipers. You can also add blind-spot monitoring, a feature that alerts you to vehicles in your blind spots when you’re changing lanes or backing up.
All EcoSport models come with the SYNC® infotainment system. The base model has a 4.2-inch display screen, while all other models get an 8-inch touch screen with SYNC® 3 infotainment. The system is renowned for its highly intuitive function and responsive touch-screen inputs with physical knobs for common functions. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone compatibility is included with SYNC® 3, so you can sync your phone to the car’s onboard system to play music or audiobooks. A wi-fi hotspot, premium sound system, navigation, and HD and satellite radio are on offer.
