Ford Crossovers vs. Ford SUVs

January 3rd, 2019 by

In recent years, crossover SUVs have become more and more available. You may wonder what the difference is between a crossover SUV and a conventional SUV (sport utility vehicle).

A crossover SUV is based on the platform of a car. With that said, crossovers form a “unibody”, meaning the body and frame are one piece. An SUV’s body is built on the chassis of a truck, meaning the frame and body are separate pieces. They share many characteristics, like four-wheel drive, but are just built differently. Many crossovers began as SUVs, but over time have been designed differently.

Sheridan Ford has both crossovers and SUVs available for sale. Lease or buy one today!

Go see Joe at Sheridan Ford to test drive any of these vehicles!
