Performance and Capability

The Escape offers three available engines, each paired with a 6-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. The 2.5L iVCT I-4 delivers 168 HP and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. The 1.5L EcoBoost® I-4 delivers 179 HP and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.0L EcoBoost® I-4 delivers 245 HP and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. EcoBoost® are optimized for power and efficiency, and you will not find them in the 2018 Buick Envision.

With the available Class II Trailer Tow Prep Package (optional on the SE and SEL models), you can tow up to 2,000 lbs. with the 1.5L EcoBoost® engine. This package is also optional on the Titanium model and includes trailer sway control and the ability to tow up to 3,500 lbs. with the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine. The Envision can only tow a maximum of 1,500 lbs.

As you drive, know that you will always be firmly planted with AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control^TM (RSC)^1,2. This feature will apply the brakes and modify engine power if the road becomes uneven to keep your car stable with each wheel on the ground.

Technology

Ford’s SYNC® Technology is not available in the 2018 Buick Envision. It comes standard on the S and SE models with voice recognition and a 4.2-inch LCD touch screen. When you upgrade to SYNC®3, well the fun really begins. This comes standard on the SEL and Titanium models (and a package option on the SE model). SYNC®3 is compatible with both Apple CarPlay™  and Android Auto™. This is also voice-activated and allows you to make calls, reply to texts and change your music without picking up your phone.

You would be remiss to not download the FordPass™ application. This handy app acts like your sidekick. Get help from trained Ford guides when you need it, schedule routine service to keep your 2018 Escape running like new, compare fuel prices and find parking for your next destination.

You will not find SYNC® technology or the FordPass™ application available with the Envision.

Space

Both the Escape and the Envision have seating for five. The Escape has a passenger volume of 98.7 cubic feet. In the front seats, you have 39.9” of head room, 43.1” of leg room, 54.5” of hip room and 55.9” of shoulder room. In the rear seats, you have 39” of head room, 37.3” of leg room, 52.4” of hip room and 55.2” of shoulder room. You have plenty of space to stretch out, relax and enjoy the ride.

As for cargo space, there is 68 cubic feet of space behind the front seats and 34 cubic feet of space behind the second row of seats, which leaves plenty of room to pack for a weekend getaway.

The Envision has similar dimensions for space. However, the Escape’s starting price is $23,940 while the Envision’s starting price is $33,995. That’s a $10,000 difference for the same great features.
