Thank you for choosing Sheridan Ford, serving the Wilmington and Newark area for 30 years! If you’re looking for a Ford sedan, Ford SUV or Ford truck, then look no further! We offer the best customer service, prices and a wide selection that caters to many different needs.

If you are in need of a truck more for work than play, consider the 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Whether you need one or a fleet for your crew, consider the Super Duty over the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The F-250 was built stronger, for tougher jobs. The F-250 Super Duty is available in six models: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited.

Performance

Choose between gas and diesel when you decide on the F-250 Super Duty. The 6.2-L V8 gas engine delivers 385 HP and 430 lb.-ft. of torque, compared to 360 HP and 380 lb.-ft. of torque in the Silverado 2500’s gas engine. The 6.7-L Power Stroke®V8 turbodiesel engine delivers 450 HP and 935 lb.-ft. of torque, compared to 445 HP and 910 lb.-ft. of torque in the Chevrolet’s diesel engine.

The Super Duty puts out power and makes a great display of doing so. The F-250 has a maximum payload of 4,250 lbs. (3,534 lbs. in the Silverado 2500). It tows a max of 18,500 lbs (18,100 lbs. in the Silverado 2500), and if properly equipped with a fifth wheel and gooseneck, it tows up to an impressive 34,000 lbs.

The Limited model might be the costliest, but it was optimized for hard work. It comes standard with a shift-on-the-fly 4WD and the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (various cameras around the truck to help you tow with confidence). 4WD will allow you to drive through any terrain and switch between modes as needed.

The 2018 Super Duty comes with standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) and Trailer Sway Control. This will keep your truck and attached trailer stable by reducing engine power and applying the brakes to individual wheels if necessary.1

The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 falls short in its performance.

Technology

Performance may be a deciding factor in whether or not you choose the 2018 F-250 Super Duty, but we have to mention the great technological features you’ll find in this Ford truck. Each model comes standard with SYNC® technology, and the higher models upgrade you to SYNC® 3. This is voice-activated and a responsive system that frees you from distractions while driving. Answer your phone, reply to a text or change the song without taking your eyes off the road or hands off the wheel. SYNC®3 is compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.

To compare fuel prices along your route, find parking, speak with a trained Ford guide or schedule your next oil change or tire rotation, download the FordPass™ phone application. This handy app is your personal assistant when it comes to your Ford truck.

The Chevrolet Silverado 2500 does not feature SYNC®3 or the FordPass™ app.
