Performance and Capability
The 2019 Ford Ranger is equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine that delivers 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque (best in class*). The 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission guarantees smooth and quick gearshifts. Both the EcoBoost® engine and SelectShift® transmission are exclusive to the Ford Motor Company and are incomparable to other car manufacturers.
Thanks to the way the EcoBoost (available only in the Ford truck) is engineered, it features a direct-injection system. This means that gas is injected into the combustion chamber at high pressure and very precisely. The fuel is used more efficiently, resulting in better fuel economy (EPA estimated 21 city/26 highway/26 combined). The available Auto Start-Stop technology also further improves your fuel economy. When you come to a complete stop, like at a red light, your engine will shut off. Once you’re ready to go again and release the brake, it starts back up. All the while, you’ll still enjoy the air conditioning or heat, and your radio.
The 2019 Ford Ranger is also capable of towing up to 7,500 lbs. The 2019 Honda Ridgeline has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.
The new Ranger is also perfect for off-road adventures. The 4X4 Electronic Shift On The Fly allows you to easily switch from normal driving to 4-wheel drive. Ask about the FX4 Off-Road package, the advanced off-roading package that includes a Terrain Management System and Trail Control, when you visit Sheridan Ford.
